Your new fence can be made from several materials:

• Cedar – Cedar is a beautiful and sturdy option for your fence. It can also be stained in several colors to accent your outdoor environment.  Cedar fencing does not shrink or swell, comes in various designs and sizes, and is resistant to rot and insect damage. The porous nature of cedar helps with sound absorption, which means it will not only give you privacy, but can help with those noisy neighbors as well! With proper upkeep, cedar fences can last up to a decade or more depending on your climate.
• White Wood – This option is slightly less expensive than cedar but provides excellent protection for your home.
• Wrought Iron – Wrought iron fences are very sturdy, but are also the most expensive material on this list. You will need to clean your wrought iron fence regularly and may need to re-paint every few years or so, but with proper maintenance, this fence will last 50 years or more. While you don’t get much privacy with wrought iron fences, they are extremely beautiful and are fantastic for security purposes. They are also the top-of-the-line when it comes to withstanding ever changing weather. This type of fence is fantastic for property that has a desirable view such as a greenbelt, lake or golf course.
• Chain Link - Chain link fences are inexpensive, durable and easy to maintain. They don’t provide much privacy, but will provide adequate security depending on its height. For more privacy you can plant shrubs or other greenery near the fence. These fences will need a power wash once or twice a year, but with proper care, chain link fences should last 15-20 years without staining or chipping.
